Welcome

Congratulations, you just successfully registered as an official participant of International STAND UP to Bullying Day! Where you go from here is dependent on what type of participant you are so please read on...

Individual Participants:

It's very easy to take the STAND on an individual basis and participate in the day. The entire process looks like this:

  1. register online
  2. order a shirt
  3. sign the pledge on the shirt
  4. wear it
  5. STAND UP to bullying!

School, Organization or Workplace Participants

You can start getting excited now! If you've registered a school or workplace, you just took the first steps to organizing one of the most fun, spirit building days you could imagine! When your students or staff sign and wear pledge shirts, a very "loud" statement is made. On top of being highly effective in regards to building a mutually respectful, bully free environment, it also leads to a very fun day.

Here's some important information for you to know:

1) Shirts are $10 each + shipping and handling. These are not the kind of cheap, standard shirts that are traditionally used for events. They are professionally designed by a clothing company to be the kind of shirt that is worn throughout the year. It's important to recall the message of the day from time to time, and having participants be proud to wear the shirts afterwords forces others to do that! They are very soft, high quality shirts. Each one is individually packaged and has a tag attached to it explaining everything the participant needs to know about International STAND UP to Bullying Day and what their pledge means.

2) All schools ordering at least 50 shirts will receive a 4 X 6 foot pink "STOOD UP" flag to fly on your school's flag pole or hang somewhere in the school to mark you as a participant, and will receive free shipping on their order.

3) The last day to order shirts to make sure you have them in time for the scheduled day, is the Monday two weeks before the scheduled Friday. . We often have a limited inventory of certain sizes, so we suggest placing your order as soon as possible.

Getting Started:

Your first task is to find out who will participate! Keep in mind that the individuals with the most potential to make this STAND effective in your school or workplace, are the same ones who wouldn't think twice about bullying because they are not involved in it. Approach them directly to participate and try to make them realize that standing on the sidelines is enabling the problem to continue.

Print up this sheet to aid in collecting names and shirt sizes. (you'll need adobe acrobat reader installed to do so)

Be creative when trying to promote the event! Print up some posters and hand them out. Call your local media outlets to tell them you're participating. Create a Facebook event for your school or organizations STAND, make a fun PA announcement. Spray paint "STOOD UP" onto your principals car in pink. (Well..maybe check for permission on that last one!) Either way, have fun with it!
